First opened in 1859, Copenhagen Zoo boasts a rich 165-year history. In recent years, the zoo has shifted its focus towards becoming a research and conservation institution. To reflect this change and appeal to an international audience, the zoo has been renamed "Zoohaven" - a clever combination of the Danish word "haven" (meaning garden) and the English word "zoo". 

The new branding playfully incorporates 19th and 20th-century zoology prints, creating a mature yet whimsical aesthetic. This approach not only highlights the zoo's heritage but also appeals to its primary demographic: children. The rebranding aims to strike a balance between showcasing the zoo's long-standing tradition and its modern, forward-thinking approach to animal conservation and research.
