Meeting House

Visual Identity, Editorial, Web Design

Founded in 1747, the Shakers were a sect of Christianity that dedicated themselves to celibacy, equality, unity, and finely crafted creations. Skilled in woodworking and other trades, they lived communally, developing a distinct design language centered around craftsmanship sustainability, and purity.

Meeting House blends history with contemporary design by creating a platform to curate products and educational resources that pay homage to the craftsmanship, sustainability, and purity that define the Shaker legacy. In order to create a visual identity that speaks to the Shaker tradition, Meeting Houses’ visual identity blends forms of craft such as quilting with contemporary expression.
